This 30-minute class is designed to boost muscle strength by improving your flexibility and reducing the muscle tightness that robs you of your strength. Tight muscles limit movement by decreasing joint mobility, making it harder and more painful to move about your day.  To get the most out of your exercise programs or to keep up with your everyday activities, it's important to keep your joints moving.  Restoring flexibility has been proven to decrease pain and stiffness in the joints, improve muscle strength, increase energy levels, and decrease tension.

Each class includes a variety of the most common stretch styles:
  • Static - holding muscles in place for a duration of time to stretch
  • Dynamic - moving a muscle through a full range of motion to stretch
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) or a stretch-contract-relax sequence
Stretching exercises are done on the floor, standing, or in a chair. It is recommended that you have a yoga mat or a carpeted floor and a sturdy chair. If you can't get on the floor, modifications are given.
